Path of Light

Path of Light Across North America

Peace Light North America is dedicated to facilitating the distribution of the Peace Light from Bethlehem throughout the North American continent. Every year dedicated volunteer drivers move the Peace Light with oil lanterns and candles, as a continuous flame (not allowing the flame to extinguish) across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, starting with the ceremony at New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Without these devoted people, churches, scouting groups, and other community organizations, we would not have the Light to enjoy during the Christmas season, and beyond.

In 2019, using Google Forms and maps, volunteers coordinated moving the Peace Light through 38 states, with at least 200 sharing stops.  Our goal someday is to distribute Peace Light to all 50 states, 10 Canadian provinces, 6 Mexican regions, Puerto Rico, and all Caribbean Islands countries.

We encourage folks to plan now for connections and paths come December, moving the Peace Light state-to-state.  The Google Form and map on this webpage are the same as links provided on the Peace Light North America Facebook group.

If you're sharing the Peace Light in your local area, please consider posting a share event on the Events section of the website, or find other Peace Light members on the Get Involved part of the website.

Please use the Google Form to create sharing stops for distribution of the Peace Light.  Thank you for committing your time to helping share the Peace Light across North America.  We can always use more volunteers to help spread the Peace Light as efficiently and quickly as possible.

The Google map below incorporates the sharing stops from submitted Google Form data.  It takes our website volunteers a day or more to get the map updated once we receive new information.
